My good mate Matt (we lived together at Uni and as FY1s) had me on his podcast. It’s called “Beyond the Limits” and it’s all about human performance.
I’ve recorded a few pods. I think this one is right up there in terms of the quality of chat. I absolutely love the subject matter.
It centres on my Culture and Machines blog post (we talk mainly about the culture section…).
It was particularly interesting to draw a connection between my time working at Khayelitsha Hospital in South Africa in 2015, my Sydney HEMS fellowship, and my current interest in institutional knowledge management. It’s the first time I’ve discussed them all as part of one career narrative with the same driving force behind each…
It’s probably important to point out I don’t consider myself someone who consistently achieves “high performance”. I guess I worry some people might read the title of the pod and think I’m a bit of a tool. I think a more accurate description of me is that I’m a student of how to get better at my job. It will be a pursuit of mine until the day I hang up my stethoscope.
Huge thanks to Matt and Mike. As I said to you both off air - I love what you guys are doing with the pod. I’ve gleaned some genuinely actionable insights from other episodes I’ve listened to, and am chuffed to have been invited on.
Would love to know what people think of our chat.
Cheers!
